Turkey's Glassware Council convened

The meeting of the Turkish Glassware Council was held via video conference with the intensive participation of sector representatives under the chairmanship of Ali Kopuz, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), and Council President Murat Kolbaşı.​

TOBB Vice President Ali Kopuz expressed his satisfaction with the increase in the meetings in his opening speech. Referring to the pandemic, Kopuz added that he is confident that we will overcome this global problem with the least damage with the decisive fight of our state and our nation.

At the meeting, a briefing was given by TOBB Fairs Director Tuğçenaz Uğurlu about "Fair Regulation and Procedural Principles," followed by answering questions from participants.

Council Members also exchanged ideas on subcommittees to be established within the Council, evaluated the results of the survey slated for the sub-committees, decided after the last meeting.

The meeting also discussed the status of import customs duties, which will expire on September 30th with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Commerce, and its effects on the sector.

A presentation on "Creating Strong Retail Strategies," was given by GFK Research Services Inc.

Council Members also exchanged ideas about what could be promoted more on international platforms and agreed to discuss the issue in more detail in the future.

In the last agenda item of the meeting, a presentation on the foreign trade data of the sector was given by the Association of Glassware (ZÜCDER) from the Council Member Associations.

The next meeting was scheduled for October.
