Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

During the first eight months of the year 2023 the number of newly established Companies and the number of sole proprietorships decreased by 3,8% and 19,5% while the number of cooperatives increased by 72,9% with respect to the same period of the year 2022.​

Under the chairmanship of Zeki Kıvanç, Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), a delegation from the Cement and Cement Products Council, Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Council, Chemical Industry Council, Cosmetics and Hygiene Products Industry Council and Plastics, Rubber and Composites Industry Council visited Gürsel Erul, Deputy General Director of Environmental Management of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, in his office.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Waste and Recycling Industry Council convened to elect the new term Presidency Council and determine the road map.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Council Presidency Council election meeting was held with the participation of Engin Yeşil, TOBB Board Member responsible for the Council.​

The Commission on Social Affairs (CAS) meeting, where practices for the road transport sector were discussed by the members of the Commission on Social Affairs (CAS) of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), was held in Brussels/Belgium on September 6th, 2023.​

In order to facilitate the distribution of transit documents carried out by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) effectively, efficiently and in accordance with the rules, Türkgözü border gate joined the border gates document distribution network.​

The Türkiye Software Council convened at the TOBB Twin Towers with the participation of TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci and under the chairmanship of Council President Ertan Barut.​

Within the scope of the Chamber / Commodity Exchange Accreditation System studies, New Accreditation Standard Training was organized on 7-8 September 2023 for 4-6-9-12th Term Accredited Chambers / Exchanges.​

In August 2023, the number of domestic goods certificates approved increased by 15.3% compared to the previous month. 1274 Domestic Goods Certificates were approved by TOBB in August 2023 according to the Domestic Goods Communiqué (SGM 2014/35) prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Technology pursuant to Article 63 of the Public Procurement Law No. 4734 and published in the Official Gazette dated September 13, 2014 and numbered 29118.​

Turkey-TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum Co-Chairs Cihat Lokmanoğlu and Omaç Cin met online. Turgay Deniz, President of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, Ramazan Gündoğdu, Deputy President, Ayla Harp, Vice President of the Turkey-TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum and Chairperson of the TOBB Foreign Relations Commission, Aysun Önet İleri, Secretary General attended the meeting. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the role of Mersin Port in the development of trade relations between Turkey and TRNC.​
