Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The number of capacity reports approved by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in May 2020 decreased by 53.5% (2,287 units) compared to May 2019, resulting in 1,987 units. The number of capacity reports approved in the first 5 months of 2020 decreased by 11.3% (2,118 units) compared to the first 5 months of 2019.​

The European Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUROCHAMBRES), of which the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, is Vice President. held its 127th General Assembly.​

The Tax Advisory Council of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey convened via video conference under the chairmanship of Council President Fatih Dural with the participation of TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç.​​​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Tableware Council convened via video conference to select the Presidential Council and make an overall assessment of the sector, chaired by TOBB Vice President Ali Kopuz.​

Ahmet Saygın Baban, Head of the Department of Sectors and Entrepreneurship of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), attended the video conference, which was held with the participation of 60 members at the international level within the scope of the training on, “Promoting Entrepreneurship to Increase Tourism Sector Competitiveness,” organized by the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Education Center (SESRIC) of Islamic Countries.​

The Turkey Climate Control Council convened under the presidency of Council President Zeki Poyraz. The meeting discussed domestic air quality and what can be done in this regard. Poyraz provided information about the topics expressed on behalf of the Turkey Climate Control Council at the TOBB Economic Summit, which was hosted by TOBB with the participation of Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak. ​

The June meeting of the Turkey Natural Gas Council was held under the chairmanship of İbrahim Akbal with the participation of TOBB Vice President Selçuk Öztürk. Important developments for the sector were evaluated at the meeting.​

Ministry of National Education (MEB) Deputy Minister Mahmut Özer and Vocational and Technical Education General Director Kemal Varin Numanoğlu held with a meeting participants from MEB, TOBB and TOBB ETU to evaluate the work carried out in project schools in 81 provinces during the training period within the scope of the Vocational Education Cooperation Protocol.​

The Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), of which the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu is Vice President, organized a webinar on the, “Normalization process in the Economy After COVID-19 of Asia-Pacific Countries,” in cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (FICCI).​
