Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

Zhang Shaogang, Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), visited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) and met with Tamer Kıran, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TOBB.​

Green Transformation and Sustainability Summit in Industry was organized by Konya Chamber of Industry. Mustafa Büyükeğen, President of Konya Chamber of Industry, who made the opening speech of the summit, pointed out that it is important to adapt to the green transformation process and said that it is of vital importance for industrialists to reduce carbon emissions in their enterprises and even make them carbon neutral if possible.​

Hosted by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), in cooperation with Gaziantep Commodity Exchange and Hepsiburada, an information meeting was held as a video conference for SMEs producing geomarked products in Gaziantep region to commercialize their products and move them to e-commerce.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Venture Capital Council meeting was held via video conference with the participation of sector representatives under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci and Council Chairman Altan Küçükçınar.​

In the first 6 months of 2023, the number of domestic goods certificates approved increased by 9.4% compared to the same period last year.​

The number of capacity reports approved by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) in June 2023 decreased by 23.3% (1,139) compared to June 2022 (4,890) and became 3,751.​

During the first five months of the year 2023 the number of newly established Companies and the number of cooperatives increased by 3,1% and 69,1% while the number of sole proprietorships decreased by 8,1% with respect to the same period of the year 2022.​

2023 Ordinary General Assembly of TMO-TOBB Agricultural Products Licensed Warehousing Industry and Trade Inc., Türkiye's first licensed warehouse company established to set an example for the private sector under the Agricultural Products Licensed Warehousing Law No. 5300, was held at TOBB Social Facilities.​

The 13th World Chambers Congress, which is held every two years by the World Confederation of Chambers operating under the umbrella of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), was held in Geneva, Switzerland on June 21-23, 2023.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) took action to increase qualified human resources in the e-commerce sector. Under the coordination of TOBB, 500 people will receive e-commerce training in 1 year with the cooperation and contributions of Trendyol, Yemeksepeti, Amazon Türkiye, Ideasoft, Ticimax, Hipotenüs, Askon Design Center and TOBB ETÜ SEM. The project will start in July.​
