Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

In Turkey to research investment opportunities, the Saudi business delegation visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. During the meeting, bilateral trade relations, investment opportunities and possible areas of cooperation were discussed.​

Speaking at the Academic Consultants for 81 Provinces promotional meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the world is rapidly changing and that they must prepare the Turkish private sector for this change. ​

Speaking at the Stars of the Economy Award Ceremony held by the Muş Chamber of Commerce and Industry, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu urged for refocusing on structural reforms. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that development of the economy means employment and prosperity, “Please, let us look to structural reforms for the economy. If we don’t have money in our pockets, we have nothing else to talk about. If we want to prosper, we must focus on economy and continue structural reforms with all due haste.”​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited Muş Governor Vedat Büyükersoy and Muş Municipality Director Feyat Asya at their respective offices. Also present during the visits were the chamber and exchange chairmen of the province and counties as well as the TOBB Board Member Ebubekir Bal and GTİ Inc. Council President Arif Parmaksız.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu announced that the number of chambers and exchanges accredited as “5-star”, has reached 191 and another 41 are on the way. The goal for accreditation is the whole of 365 chambers and exchanges.​

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu received TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and TOBB Board of Directors.​

Dr. Ian O. Lesser Senior Director for Foreign and Security Policy at German Marshall Fund (GMF) visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his offices.​

A reception was held in honor of Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and B20 Turkey.​

B20 Turkey and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, during an interview with Bloomberg TV in Davos, stated that problems on a global scale can only be solved through global initiatives. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This is not a decision to be made by economists or central banks - quite the contrary, it is a mechanism which must be decided by political and economist parties together.”​

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that, as the Turkish business community, they’ve always complained about high interest rates, stressing the need to lower the interest rates of all small, medium and large businesses in Turkey.​
