TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and TBB President Hüseyin Aydın made statements to the press before the meeting.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they are holding their 12^th meeting in Erzurum as a part of the joint dialogue meetings in Anatolia.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the meeting is attended by the presidents of the chambers of Ağrı, Ardahan, Artvin, Bayburt, Erzincan, Erzurum, Hakkari, Iğdır, Kars, Rize and Van.

“The general managers and deputy general managers of 10 big banks are here with us as well. I would like to thank Mr. Hüseyin Aydın, the President of TBB, for a first in our history. We will develop common solutions. The the private sector and the banking sector are in the same situation. Both of us are parts of an inseparable whole. We will overcome this troubled period together.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that companies should open the way for access to finance and that banks are meeting with the business community for this reason at regional meeting.

Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that in the last 25 years they have survived similar periods together, “We will get through this period together. We will be more powerful as a result of this downturn.”

TBB President Hüseyin Aydın said that they saw that the financial sector and the real sector as inseparable and are on the same ship. Aydın stated that problems would be discussed during the meeting, expressed his hopes that it would prove instrumental in increased prosperity.
